Burger King

I went to Burger King with a Messiah student today (Friday) and was sad to see their sign for the by one take one whopper jr. meal was gone.  It was such a great meal too.  For P170, you got a large fries, large coke, and two whopper jr.'s.  That means for P85 each, you and your friend can eat a lot at Burger King.  The large coke and fries is seriously a good size amount.  And P85 is a good price to pay for a non-food court meal.    So I was sad to see it no longer on the menu.  We had decided to just get a simple bbq single meal instead P99 each.  But then I decided to ask the cashier about the whopper jrs meal.

The guy smiled and said that they still had it and it would be until next year, they just took the sign down.  My stomach celebrated at the sound of that as we ordered it.

It reminds me of how we tend to think that God doesn't come through the way He did in the Bible.  There's this sense of that those were The Bible Times and this is the Now Times.  God can't part the oceans, He can't make the sun stand still, He can't bring the dead back to life, He can't heal the sick...or can He?  See, there's this feeling that just because we don't see it everyday, that God can't do that.  Yet He can.  He is the same God today as He was yesterday and the same God He will be tomorrow.  He will not change.  The way He works in our lives will be different.  When you look through the Bible, it is rare to come across "repeat" miracles. One thing always remains the same: God is working and God takes care of His children, even in the hardships.

The thing is we assume that God doesn't do these things anymore, but all we need to do, like with the cashier at Burger King, all we need to do is ask God to help us out in our situation and God will come through for us.  It might not be how you expect it and it may not be in the timing that is convenient for you, but God always takes care of His children and that will never change.  You CAN be amazed by God if you dare to dream and to ask God to truly help you in your life instead of limiting your prayers to God to be simple little things like traffic and stop lights.  God can do so much more in your life if you let Him.

Ask.  Seek.  Knock.

We're Going in a New Direction

For those who come across this page, the direction of my blog is changing.  The goal now is to make this primarily a review site to help others to begin looking at their world in a new way - with a Christian worldview.  I'll regularly be posting reviews of movies and listing what are the Biblical views that may be in the movie along with questions to help start discussions.

I think the point of this blog is also to provide illustrations for speakers, preachers, Sunday school teachers, etc.

I'll also be writing about restaurant reviews also along with any Biblical integration I can think of.
